Abandoned, mistreated, accused and forgotten, Joseph had every right to be prejudice towards his family and the Egyptians. Yet when he is finally brought from prison into the Pharaoh’s presence to interpret a dream, he does not become indignant at man or God. Instead he remains humble before the Egyptian king and fully dependent on and submitted to his Heavenly King. I often wonder at what point did Joseph understand that God had a purpose for all of the pain and suffering he had experienced? When did he grasp that God would use his humility in combination with his faith to fulfill God’s plan of preservation of the Israelite nation?…
